Houston Pets Alive! saves animals that are at risk of being euthanized at local shelters and impound facilities. This is only possible through the kindness of animal lovers like you who open their hearts and homes to a vulnerable cat, dog, kitten, or puppy. So by fostering, you are LITERALLY saving a life!

A foster home is a home that provides a safe, temporary living situation for a dog or cat in need. Foster families provide basic accommodations, food, water, love, socialization, and attention while HPA! handles ALL of the medical care and additional supplies available. It's just like overnight babysitting a dog or cat while they get ready for their forever home!

Fosters must be able to travel to Houston Pets Alive!'s facility at 2800 Antoine Drive for regular medical care as the foster animal is prepared for adoption. Once medically ready for adoption, cats/kittens will transfer to reside in a partner pet store cattery, and dogs/puppies attend on-site Saturday adoption events as well as private meet and greets (if applicable).
